SYS is happy to introduce Bob the Cat, a solid and much-loved Bahia 46 that has been home, transport, and adventure platform for her current owners as they cruised thousands of miles across Southeast Asia.
From Indonesia to Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand, Bob the Cat has carried her crew comfortably and confidently through years of off-grid cruising. Now based in Langkawi, she's ready for her next chapter and new owners to step aboard and continue the journey.
The Bahia 46 has a well-earned reputation as a true sailor's cat--responsive, steady, and reassuring at sea--and Bob the Cat lives up to that name. She has been continuously cared for and sensibly upgraded between 2017 and 2025, not to impress at the dock, but to make life aboard safer, easier, and more enjoyable.
Rig & Sails
Her standing rigging was replaced in 2018, and in June 2024 she received a brand-new North Sails mainsail with slack pack. The high-roach 74m² main, with three reefing points, is easy to handle and a pleasure to sail--whether day sailing or stretching out on longer passages.
Comfort & Practical Upgrades
Life off-grid is well supported by a 660W solar array keeping the batteries charged. In 2023, several thoughtful upgrades were added, including new trampolines, a new bimini, and a double helm seat--perfect for sharing the ride. The bimini remains in good condition, with a little stitching starting to loosen in places, a small and honest reminder that this is a boat that's been out there doing what boats are meant to do. She was also anti-fouled in June 2024.
Why She Stands Out
Bob the Cat isn't a shiny showboat--she's something better. She's a capable, well-equipped cruising catamaran that's been actively sailed, genuinely loved, and set up for full-time liveaboard life. Solidly built, comfortable, and ready to keep going, she offers an ideal balance of reliability and character.
After years of unforgettable adventures, Bob the Cat is now ready for new owners to take the helm, make her their own, and write the next chapter. If you're looking for a friendly, sailor-focused catamaran without the stress of a major project, she's well worth a closer look.
