This Aluminum Kaufman 43 is exceptionally well inventoried, above and beyond any normal refit I have seen. The list of upgrades and professional work done on this boat is absolutely mind blowing. It will have you asking a major question... Why on earth would a couple do all this work, and then want to sell?
These owners bought the boat in 2017, storing her on land for 3 years while they worked, gathering cruising kitty, and money for the refit. In 2023/2024 they did a major upgrade on her, and she emerged practically a new boat. They then sailed her up from Western Australia, through Indonesia, and on to Malaysia and Thailand. They have decided that they are going to stay on in the area, they LOVE South East Asia, but they are going to continue their lives on the ocean lives on a trawler/motor boat.
Bosuns Mate is 100% ready to go.
She is a unique lay out, in that she has 2 cockpits, both sunken and protected, one a non working cockpit, and the aft helm cockpit with all the controls and lines.
The current owner is 6 ft 6, and fits well throughout the boat, and in the double aft cabin.
She's a perfect boat for long haul adventure/off grid sailing, easy to handle single or short handed, and with room enough for a family or for traveling with guests.
Her full list of upgrades are in her full inventory but include the following....
Engine: Yanmar 4JH80 80hp turbo diesel (NEW 2023) 675hrs
Standing rigging NEW 2024
Installed water maker, producing 150 litres per hour (2024)
New full batten mainsail and genoa, supplied by One Sails (2024)
Mast and boom refurbished (2024)
Twin draw Vitrifrigo fridge/freezer (2024)
Full deck sandblast and repaint
Advanced Garmin Integrated Navigation system (New)
And with 600 Ah of Lithium batteries, 1,425 watts of solar, and a Mase 5.5 kVA generator (180 hours runtime), all new in the 2023/2024 upgrade, she is capable of taking you anywhere!

In 2023, moved to another yard and completed a full re-fit. Splashed in January 2024, full time live-aboard since then. Left Perth in June 2024, sailed up West coast of Australia and across to Indo. Spent 1 year cruising Indo and then sailed up the Malacca Strait to Malaysia, arrived in Langkawi October 2025."
