TUTKUM is a two cabin layout, with a large V Berth forward, serviced by the head on the port side, with a stand alone shower. With plenty of light and air ventilation from hatches, the warmth off the wood tones create a welcoming atmosphere fostering safety and relaxation. There is ample storage throughout the boat, and everything is easy to access, clean, and maintain.
The saloon table is offset to port, nestled in the curve of the saloon settee, which can easily seat 4, to 6 people. On the starboard side, a 3 seater, fore and aft lounge, stretches towards the navigation station, with its comfortable forward facing seat, and large navigation table. Innovative additions, like the fold down door that hinges into a work station table, right next to the navigation seat, really make this boat workable, practical and personal. The large wrap-around saloon windows keep the living space bright, and additional handholds below will make navigating the wide-open interior easy.

There is a large table top section beneath the companion way steps, which can be used as additional galley space for preparation, or for a work and maintenance area. The galley is roomy and secure, for sailing on passage, with plenty of wall space and hand holds for bracing yourself whist underway. There is large fridge, and freezer, both with bench top loading access, as well as a door at knee level. There is a double sink, gimbled 3 burner stove and oven, and drawers and cupboards for storage.

Engine access from the galley walkway make the engine extremely easy to maintain and service. Electrical wiring and systems are labelled and carefully installed, and honestly, a professional work of art.

The queen bed master bedroom in the aft of the boat is stylish and graceful, with small seats on with side of the bed, as well an compartments with lifting lids for easy storage, along with the traditional cupboards and shelving. A walk in full size ensuite supports yet another full sized shower compartment.

The centre cockpit design provides a wonderful entertaining cockpit and aft deck with a scoop transom stairway for easy access to the the water, and to boarding your tender. The cockpit is spacious and Tutkum has a soft dodger and bimini to offer shade and protection underway or on anchor. Davit systems on the stern provide a base for the solar panels and radar, as well as hoisting your OC tender, or, as the current owners do, your Kayak.

The Tayana 48 DS is a variation on the company's popular 48-footer. Designer Rob Ladd added a deck saloon and raised the floor structure on Bob Perry's original hull to create a spacious, open interior. This yacht was designed and built with exceptional quality and she has it all - speed under sail, safety in any sea condition and comfort found in few yachts of this size.

Tutkum is currently actively cruising the West Coast of Malaysia and Thailand, and is a full time live aboard boat.
